About Puppy Guardianship

Why guardianship?

Becoming a Guardian Home is a wonderful, no cost opportunity to welcome a high-quality puppy into your family. As a family-run breeding program, we do not believe in raising our dogs in kennel environments. Instead, we want each of our breeding dogs to experience life as a beloved family pet in a caring and nurturing home.

Because we are unable to keep all of our breeding dogs in our own home, we partner with carefully selected Guardian Families who provide these dogs with the love, attention, and everyday family life they deserve. Our goal is for every breeding dog to grow up in a stable, loving home and remain with that same family throughout their lifetime. Unlike traditional breeding programs where dogs may be rehomed after completing their breeding years, our Guardian Home dogs are intended to remain cherished members of their families for life.

Details of guardianship:

If you are chosen to be part of the Kingsfield Doodles Guardian home program, we will place you with a first pick of the litter puppy at 9 weeks old.  As apart of your home, you would pay for any other vet care and medical expenses of raising a family pet, but we cover any breeding related expenses (reproduction related). All guardian families must live within 2 hours of Greensboro NC. 

Cost Transparency:

All puppies placed in a guardian home come at no up front cost to the families. We will cover the price of the puppy. Families are expected to cover all non-reproductive based vet costs (regular vet visits, check ups, etc). This is an excellent way to have a furry friend join your family with no out of pocket costs!
